Explorer is a multipart livecam installation developed for GSH Wettingen (ch). A painted wooden platform and seating furniture is located in front of a wall-size print showing a 3D rendered shrubbery. The bench invites visitors to sit down and look upwards to a screen hanging from the ceiling. This screen displays the visitor standing in between bushes and shrubs, like an explorer who just discovers a strange species of light dancing behind the leaves.

While the moving light being is rendered by a random based program in realtime, the visitor is recorded by a camera hidden in a small cardboard hut on a socle. The PC live broadcast software then combines the various sources (background image, live video, realtime rendered animation, digital images) into one video livestream.
